Gambero Rosso has awarded Tre Bicchieri 2026 to our Barbera d’Asti Vigne Vecchie 50 2023, one of the most representative wines of our winery and of the way we regard our work, the land and tradition.

There are some awards that just acknowledge the value of a wine, and then there are some that, on top of that, are also capable of telling a story. In this case, Gambero Rosso’s Tre Bicchieri award isn’t just about a wine, but rather a project, a commitment, an idea that started back in 1985.
Vigne Vecchie 50 isn’t just a label: it’s the result of an idea that went against the tide. At a time when most winegrowers decided to uproot their oldest vineyards and replace them with new, more productive ones, we chose a different path.
We decided to listen to the voice of the old vines, to respect their slowness and their memory, convinced that quality was not only measured in terms of productivity but also in terms of depth, balance and authenticity.
Today, forty years later, that intuition continues to prove us right. Our historic vineyards, some of which are over 80 years old, still reveal, harvest after harvest, the truest character of our territory: Barbera d’Asti in its purest expression, capable of combining structure and freshness, complexity and drinkability.
The Tre Bicchieri award is not an isolated achievement for us, but rather confirmation that the path we embarked upon in the 1980s, to enhance our historic vineyards, share our work and remain faithful to our territory, continues to bear fruit.
Above all, it encourages us to continue with the same passion, knowing that every conscious choice we make in the present is dedicated to building value.
Vinchio Vaglio Barbera d’Asti Vigne Vecchie 50
Barbera d’Asti Vigne Vecchie is produced from 100% Barbera grapes. Aged in steel, it has a ruby red colour with purple reflections, is fruity, with hints of ripe fruit; dry and savoury on the palate: a great wine worthy of its name.
